Do not hold back...
September 30th marks two years of Amber's Hope serving women and families! And we have so much to celebrate!
When preparing this home, we were unsure of who might walk through our doors. We had no idea who would need this space or how it might be embraced. But we stepped forward in faith, trusting that if this was God's plan, He would see it through.
In the days since opening, we have had 9 mothers and 9 children in our home. Five babies were born while in our care. This is far more than a statistic to us! These are families that we are doing life with, each day. We've welcomed them into the home with open arms, knowing that leaving their previous environment, took incredible strength. We've stood beside them, as they wrestled with questions and decisions about their future. We've entered the nitty gritty of the day to day; laundry, dishes and meal prep. We’ve laughed with them, cried with them and prayed with them. This spring we celebrated 2 Graduations!
TWO mothers, who have fully embraced the Amber's Hope program, and community and have now embraced the next step. After spending all this time with them, they feel like family to us. We've watched their little ones crawl, walk, scoot and run! We've learned much together.
It's a joy to see our families grow and to celebrate with them. And it's bitter-sweet to let them go.
We have begun to launch Stage Two support for our graduates. When families leave our home, we continue to connect with them to ensure they transition well. We make every effort to ensure that they are connected with community, a church family, and employment opportunities. Our families know that they can always reach out. We continue to offer resources through the Brightcourse online learning program and always welcome them back for visits.
Our hope is to create lasting change in the lives of families, that will have a generational impact. We are beginning to see this hope unfold in beautiful ways. We get to introduce mothers, and their children, to their loving, heavenly Father. This is an indescribable joy.

As we prepare to launch our third year, our team has been reflecting on Isaiah 54.
“Enlarge the place of your tent, and let the curtains of your habitations be stretched out; do not hold back; lengthen your cords and strengthen your stakes.
“Fear not, for you will not be ashamed; be not confounded, for you will not be disgraced; for you will forget the shame of your youth, and the reproach of your widowhood you will remember no more. For your Maker is your husband, the Lord of hosts is his name; and the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer, the God of the whole earth he is called.” Isaiah 54:2-5 ESV
Our hands are open to whatever God has for us and we are prepared to steward what He gives us.
